[SCApril’16] Twins-mania

Posted on by

Once we found out we were pregnant with #3, the nausea hit shortly. And it was bad. It was so so bad. Well, I wasn’t one to go rushing to the sink/towel bowl to retch, so I just sorta try and hold it all in. It surely screwed up my appetite. I gained 4kg in 2 weeks! WTH.

And well…because we could keep testing with the cheap test kits, and the results always showed up super fast, I couldn’t help but secretly hoped we were expecting twins. Come on, surely we had double the HCG levels that’s why the results showed up so quickly?? Hahaha. Okay, granted I was secretly hoping, I wasn’t so sure I could handle twins! Then came the news from my pregnancy buddy (all our kids are born within weeks of each other!) cum close friend that SHE was expecting twins. Hahahahha. I had a good laugh. No, wait. Donald and I had a good laugh. We knew that it was definitely not what our close friends were expecting! The joke was on them =P

This month, Singapore’s Child featured the MoMo twins, Leia & Lauren on April’s cover. If you didn’t know who they are, they are Instagram feymus Monoamniotic-Monochorionic twins (Mo-Mo) – identical twins who share the same (one) amniotic sac but each has a separate umbilical cord. Such pregnancies are really rare, with an occurrence of 1 in 35,000 to 1 in 60,000 pregnancies! What more, the twins were conceived naturally!

Waaaaah. This is like striking lottery in an oh-so-different manner. Haha.

If you have had twins, or are expecting twins, how was your pregnancy journey like? Tell us all about it!
